Our baby toddler room
Welcome to the baby toddler room
Our Baby Toddler Room Educators strongly believe in building the foundations for learning, beginning with the ‘circle of security’ and using primary caregiving to form trusting relationships with children and their families. When children feel safe and secure within their environment they are able to learn through play exploring and taking on new challenges.
Taking care of your child’s individual needs
We are committed to making transitions as gentle as possible and providing continuity of care. While we do have a general routine in the room, our individual children’s needs for sleep, bottles, meals etc are essential, and each child’s primary carer is able to respond to their cues and needs.
Providing a fun and cosy environment
Our room is a warm, natural, inviting space for the children, we offer a soft book corner, cosy rugs and pillows, beautiful timber low chairs and tables, 3 separate sleep rooms with cots and stretcher beds for the toddlers. We spend many hours outside with the babies and toddlers playing and exploring our engrossing sandpit, challenging obstacle courses, and creative sensory art area.
Dynamic programming
Our room program is an interest based emergent curriculum linked to the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), we combine planned and spontaneous play. We are able to build on these experiences with further opportunities for learning or PLODS (Possible Lines of Development). Our planned program experiences for the children are based on both individual and group interests, EYLF outcomes and parent input.
Each child has an individual portfolio which documents their learning. This may include work samples, observations, photos and learning evaluations.
